Thanksgiving Happenings

Hello all! I hope everyone had a super Thanksgiving! Michael and I sure did! We went to Idaho Falls and spent Thanksgiving with Michael's family. It was so nice to get away and see family and friends and not have to worry about school. Now that it is Sunday though we are starting to worry about school and we wish we didn't put off doing schoolwork over the break. Oh well. Only a couple weeks left!

Going to Idaho for Thanksgiving was kind of a controversial thing in our lives. We went to the doctor and he told us he strongly recommended us staying here, but Michael wasn't satisfied. We set up another appointment for the day we were going to leave to see if I was to far along to go. Well the doctor told me that I had made NO progress except that my cervix had softened. Needless to say, we decided to go. This baby is barricading herself within me. I think she might be afraid to come out.

When we were discussing the pros and cons of going to Idaho Michael turned to me and said, "All I have to do is cut the umbilical cord, right?" It took me by surprise and I asked him what he meant. He explained, "If you have the baby on our way to Idaho, all I have to do is cut the cord..." Um NO! I then proceeded to tell him that the baby has to come out a certain way first and that he has to turn the baby so the shoulders could come out and then there was the birth of the placenta and also stitching me up! That totally put me on the side of not going at all. I realized how bad we needed those dang prenatal classes and I am so sad they were cancelled and how naive Mike (especially) and I am to this whole process. Like I have said before- pray for baby Avery.

Well as you all know I had lost my phone (by the way I have found it) so I had to call everyone from Mike's phone. Anytime I call my girlfriends from his phone they were all thinking it was time to pack bags and head to the hospital. So I needed to ask Ashley a question so I called her from Mike's phone and she didn't answer so we thought it would be funny to leave her a voice message pretending that I was going into labor. Mike and I laughed that we did it and then kind of forgot about it. An hour later (around 10:30pm) we heard a knock at the door, which is pretty late for Wymounters. I opened it to find a breathless Ashley. Haha. She was looking at me with big eyes wondering why I was still big and round and at home. She totally thought we were having the baby. Come to find out she had called us 3 times with no answer (Mike's phone was on vibrate) and called all the hospitals and finally decided to check our house. It made for a really good laugh, though I do feel bad. But it was quite funny.

Today we had Grandma, Grandpa, and Kiara over for dinner and it was a lot of fun. We have been promising Gma and Gpa a meal at our house to make up to them a little of the kindness and love they have shown us. It is so wonderful to have such great grandparents! We had a really good time and were able to catch up and hear stories. It was the first time Grandpa had been to our apartment so it was exciting. We can't wait to have them over again, they are such wonderful grandparents. It was also nice having Kiara over, we have been strangers for the past couple months with work and school. I miss her and it is so crazy that we live less than 5 minutes away from each other but barely see one another. Hopefully when the baby comes Kiara will come more often. Let's be honest, the baby is way more exciting than Mike and I.

The last bit of news is good news. My mom is coming in a week! It will be so nice to have her here to help out Michael and I through this process. Lets just hope Avery works with our schedule so Mom's visit will be well worth it. I will need all the help from her I can get. We have a doctors appointment Wednesday, so hopefully I will have made some progress and hopefully they will tell me I can be induced the following week. Cross your fingers!

But anyways these past weeks were of course filled with tests, school, and work as usual. Our little Thanksgiving vacation was a nice way to refresh ourselves and gwet ready to finish off these next couple weeks of school and have a baby. Then it is Christmas! Woohoo!

Bad News

I have lost my cell phone. My life is seriously not the same. It is so hard. How did I ever not have a cell phone. It is my connection to the world. The only number I know that is not long distance (no long distance on our house phone) is Michael's. He is usually in class, at work, or testing so he can't even answer my phone calls. It is sad. I sent out an email to everyone with Mike's number and our house number. Alisha, I need to ask you some questions, so when you can call (if it is Sat call the house number).

Countdown

Well the one month countdown can begin. Michael and I are parents in a month. Holy moly. Pray for the little one.

Today and last Friday I got to work at Kim's office as the secretary, like Pam on the Office. It makes me feel real cool. The best part about it though is working with a friend again. I loved my teaching aide job cause I got to work with Lindsi and now I get to spend a little time with Kim! Work is so fun when you know you have a friend to gossip with in the next room. Too bad this is only temporary.

Kim and I wer just looking in amazement at my feet. They are seriously like two grapefruits. The sad thing is after this I am going to gap for the next 5 hours. They will probably be watermelons. I will try and take a picture for all of you. THey are quite cool.

The most exciting news is that in two weeks we get to have Thanksgiving break! It sounds like the most glorious thing, and it is. We hopefully will go to Idaho for some wonderful food, sleeping in, and hanging out all day. Mike and I don't get to see much of each other daily, so the time we will get that weekend will be priceless, especially with little Avery on the way. We will be sleeping in for sure. Maybe even eating breakfast in bed. That sounds great.

Well once again we have no pictures and not that exciting of a post. Sorry folks. One day we will be better.
